What would be the best graphics card for the money? I am building a computer and I cannot decide which graphics card to get. So far it looks like everything is pointing towards the geforce over radeon. I was originally looking at getting an ati radeon x1900 xtx, but pushed more towards the geforce 7900 gtx. Then, I have also been reading about the new DirectX 10 coming out soon. I need a graphics card so I am not sure whether to get a decent cheaper card for now and then buy later or just buy a good one now. I was even debating getting a good graphics card now and then buying a good graphics card later that supports DirectX 10 (Would they be campatible and work together?) What should I get? I dont mind getting a good graphics card right now, if it is worth it. I will have the asus m2n32-sli deluxe motherboard running an AMD 4600 processor. I am planning on doing serious film editing and possible gaming.

Ok so i just tried the demo for call of duty 4 on pc. its hella tight, but the screen was way to big. it filled the entire screen. then i went into graphics and there was this thing like "800x600" and like "720x500" or sometin. i then switched to the 800x600 and the screen was much smaller. Does that effect the graphics at all? cuz it looked much better.

graphics?? Well, i have been having these problems with graphic card issues. Only for this game though. If i put all of the graphics settings on low quality, it does not make a difference. I currently am using an Nvidia 7900GS, i hear complaints about that card having these sorts of problems. I uninstalled this game, and reinstalled it a few days ago. I installed a new patch, and the game was fine, for a few days. Then it went to graphics corruption again, not as bad as this, but these stretched out polygons that really look hideous, and they appear suddenly. Graphics card setup help!!!? I have just upgraded my pc with an ace grapics card on a new ASUS A8V-VM motherboard. I initially set it up at my brothers house and it was spot on, everything worked but i noticed he installed the drivers for the graphics utility on the motherboard. I did not worry about it. Problem is when i got home and coupled it all up ,none of my games would work, they always crashed. Like a dumbass i had connected my monitor cable to the mother board graphics card instead of my ace graphics card port. I swopped the connections. Now i can only view windows through my motherboard graphics card, when i plug it into my ace graphics card port and it wont also detect the new graphics card. I have reformatted, been in the add hardware options, and tried to re-install drivers but it will not accept them and install them. I cannot find a way of disabling my motherboard graphics card so that it detects my new graphics card. Poss bio`s? and if so how do i do it, BIOS is not my forte.

Graphics on xbox? I just bought a used xbox ( not 360) from ebgames. The graphics do not look that good, considering ppl rave about the xbox graphics. I am playing burnout 3 takedodown and the cars in the traffic look boxy and all that. Graphics card problem? Ok so i recived a new moniter for christmas (Samsung 226cw gaming moniter) and so i plugged my computer up to it through my graphics card (Nvidia Geforce 7600gs) and it was all good until one day i booted up my computer and my screen go to the windows loading bit then after that the screen went blank? at this point i was confused so i decided to see if it definetly was my graphics card so i pulled cable out and put it in the other vga slot in my computer (the one connected to my internal graphics card) and it worked so i figured it must be my graphics card so what can i do to make it work again because having no graphics card is really freakin anoying especally when you have your internal graphics taking away a bit of your ram so instead of 2 gig i have 1.9 gig anyway what could i do to get my machine back to normal fully working with a grahpics card ? Graphics Card? I have a huge problem with my graphics on my computer. I got this computer 2 years ago, it's an XP and it works fairly well. Ever since I've had it though, I'm not able to play any new, good games without having the gameplay basically in slow motion. I'm guessing this has to do with my graphics card and recently i bought Counter Strike, and it recommends that I should use NVIDIA GEFORCE graphics cards. I then went online to find out how I should know what my graphics card is at the moment. It said to go to run and type in Dxdiag, so i did. It said that my chip type was: SIS 760 Rev 00. I'm guessing thats a low version. I then went online to search for NVIDIA graphics cards and they all were in the range from 20-500 dollars. Graphics Card Problem? Hello. About a month ago, I decided to get a new graphics card along with a new PSU. I got a 500W Coolmax and a 7600GT. I got the PSU First and installed it. It ran fine. Then I got my new graphics card and installed it. They ran fine for about 18 days. Then my PC crashed. I figured it was my PSU that was faulty since it would start but not when my new graphics card was installed. So I sent it back and got a replacement. Hooked it up and same thing, will start but not when the new graphics card is attached. So I figured the problem must stem from my graphics card. Has anyone encountered this? Could some damage might have incurred while I was installing it and that's why it broke. I'm currently getting it exchanged but I'm open to ideas. Thanks for the help. Help anyone?

Graphics card help? I have an older HP Pavilion XT856 that still powers up but has no video output. I have tried a few monitors that I know work on other PCs so it can't be the monitor. I'm assuming it's the on-board graphics so I went and bought a crappy little graphics card, put it into the PCI slot and hooked up the monitor but still nothing. The installation guide to the graphics card does say "you may need to disable the on-board graphics capability". My question is then, how do you disable the graphics when you can't see anything on the monitor? could there be something else wrong with the mother board that causes something like this to happen?

ps2 graphics on a ps3 and gamecube graphics on a wii? As most owners of a gamecube and/or ps2 realize after connecting them to a HDTV, the graphics suck. My best example is this fighter plane game i have for ps2, you can see the rectangular outline of the jet. Just horrible on a HDTV. Well, my friend lend me his ps3 and I was able to test my ps2 library. What a difference! Yes, the graphics can be jagged at times, but it looks better than it did on an analog set. I was very happy with the results. Hell I'm buying a ps3 just to play the ps2 games. lol. Now here's my question. I have gamecube and hte graphics are just as terrible on a HDTV. Graphics card compatibility question? I was reading the manual to my DFI Infinity RS482 mother board wondering whether it will support an nvidia 8800gt graphics card. At the very bottom of the graphics specifications section, it says "(only ATI graphics card supported)". However, this may have only been related to the SurroundVeiw option, because this quote comes right after it. So here's the big question: Does the quote I mentioned in the manual imply that the board will only support ATI graphics cards and not nvdia cards, or will it only support ATI graphics cards while using the SurroundVeiw option?

I've look inside my computer and I saw a PCIe x16 slot(not sure if that's needed for graphics cards, I'm not very savvy when going into the actual pc) PLEASE HELP! Specs: Intel(R) Pentium(R) COU E2160 @ 1.80GHz(2 CPUs),~1.8GHz Memory: 1012 RAM DirectX Version: DirectX 10 I'm occupying 26 gigs of the 149 gigs on my harddrive. Are there any tweaks that I should do to speeden up or improve my in-game lag, any more drivers? anything at all? My computer isn't that slow, it's just ingame.

Graphics card for Philips X53? i currently have a Philips X53 laptop with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile as my graphics card. I was wondering if i can upgrade my graphics card as this one seems to be absolutely useless and does not allow me to play almost any games. Can anyone recommend a decent graphics card? This is my 2 year old computer and its features: Compaq Presario 1.81 GHz, with 896 MegaBytes of RAM Graphics Card: SIS 760 Rev 00 with an approximate memory of 128 Megabytes What I want - and need to know, is a) how do I find out what kind of graphics slot I have, AGP slot or PCI-e (PCI Express) slot, and how do i find out without unscrewing the top part of my system, and b) what kind of graphics card should i buy with each kind of slot, and considering my computer features. I want to play some regular games like counter strike, madden, rome total war, and world of warcraft. Nothing requiring extremely advanced graphics like crysis. graphics card...? on the computer I have it says the graphics card is an Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller. I have an old Dell Desktop(2002 I believe) with windows xp. I know the card is not that good, but a lot of games work fine(except for minor glitches like a white landscape in fable). I was thinking of buying a better graphics card, but I have no idea what to get(I'm not good at this stuff). Does anyone know of any good, preferably cheaper, graphics cards that would work with my computer? Just how expensive would those be though?? and the one I have now wouldn't be able to support Second life, would it?

Graphics card slot help? I ran a program to find out what graphics card slots i have, it displyed this - Bus(es) - ISA AGP PCI IMB USB i2c/SMBus I can see AGP in there and was just double checking if that is the slot i should buy a new graphics card for, also what does the rest of that mumbo jumbo mean, sorry i really dont know alot about computers. Graphics card for video editing.? Hi, I was going to buy a video editing proggram (Pinnacle or Ulead, coudn't decide yet) but I was browsing the requirements for the proggrams and found that you also need a graphics card. I don't know if my computer has one. and if it doesn't then how does this effect my video. Because a friend of mine has got a pretty bad graphics card (not very good) but a fast computer and his videos are perfect. So my question is, does it matter too much to not have a graphics card? and also please answer, does every computer have a graphics card. (I'm pretty dumb so just asking.)
