What sort of graphics card should i upgrade to?And should i upgrade my cpu and motherboard too?
I have a 3.2Ghz P4 processor with a Geforce 5500 fx 256mb graphics card, dont know about the motherboard.I bought this about three years ago and am considering upgrading .The only game i play is Warcraft, but i wouldnt mind better graphics and smoother gameplay if i can get them. Will it be a good idea to upgrade the processor, motherboard and ram(i currently have 1Gb ddr) if i get a new graphics card?

- You should definatly get a 7600 GS card from Nivida .........my friend had a similar computer and got this card and his graphics have improving a lot!
- i would get more ram 2 gigs also maybe a faster CPU because yours is about 1.5 gh slower then a new computer Dual core the motherbored should be ok but i wont konw unless i see it get a 8000 from nvidia
- It's hard to say since you dont know what type of motherboard you have and the computer is 3 years old. Try and find out if its a PCI-Express compatible motherboard or strictly just AGP. (PCI-Express is just a newer technology compared to AGP... the majority of the new video cards will require PCI-Express) Stick with Nvidia. Check out the 8800 series, although theyre a bit expensive... theyre GREAT. If you cant afford that, the 7800 series will easily handle WoW.
- Its up to you, if right now you only play WoW then is not totally necessary and what you have right now is sufficient but if you do upgrade something do the video card first.
- Just remember tho, that better graphics cards draw more power from your power supply too. If you are playing WOW, a better graphics card will definitely help out but if you are upgrading you need to check your power supply to make sure it can handle the the draw from the vid card.
