DDS Graphics

What is absolutely necessary to get incredible graphics from a computer?

For example to play kickass games like NFS: Most Wanted. I guess I need a powerful processor, an awesome graphics card, enough RAM, what else? Is the monitor important? I have a Pentium 4 processor at 2.6 Ghz, and an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 card of 256MB. I also have 256MB DDR RAM and planning on purchasing 256 more... is 512MB DDR RAM good enough?

  1. Ok, simply put, I have an FX5200 also, and it is NOT enough for a lot of the BIG games. 256 meg Video RAM is about a Min. As for the CPU P4 2.8 Prescott and up is about as small as you can go. You also have to have about 1024 to 2048 RAM, and a motherboard that is GOOD. Not some generic board, you need something like an ASUS, GIGABYTE, SOYO, or Microstar. Something like that. I build gamers and servers quite often. You can get a HOT AMD Sempron, which I don't like them, but they do make GOOD gamers tho. What you need all depends on what you want to do in the line of games.
