What are the steps to installing a graphics card?

I heard something about disabling the previous graphics card and I also heard something about installing drivers. What is the order of everything that I need to do? I have a semi-old graphics card and no software to use. Can I still use it if I can download the driver online?

  1. This is the absolute correct order to do your video card installation: Turn off computer Take out old video card (if old video card was not integrated) Install new video card Turn on computer. Install video card drivers. You do not need to uninstall your old video card's drivers.
  2. 1) Turn off and unplug computer. 2) Take out old card. 3) Put in new card. 4) Plug in and turn on computer. 5) Download drivers.
  3. take out old graphics card and uninstall drivers for that graphics card install graphics card whilst computer is switched off let windows find and configure graphics card and then install software (if you have the disk) or refer to website of manufacturer for drivers windows will give native drivers to the graphics card for functional use but to get the best out of the card refer to the manufaturers website
